Extended Calf Boots for Tall Women

Not only do I have long legs but my calf circumference is around 16.5″ which means I need extended calf boots especially if I have any hope of wearing them over jeans. Needless to say, this has led to countless hours of searching for the perfect pair of wide calf boots and today I’m sharing what has worked for me.

For my December honeymoon almost 5 years ago, I bought a pair of waterproof suede boots with a subtle stretchy panel in the back. While the shaft of these boots are not wide per se, the stretchy panel allows the boots to mold nicely to the shape of my legs, and I love that these boots offer a fitted silhouette. With a bit of effort, I can even wear them over skinny jeans.

A couple of years ago, I was in the market for a leather pair of boots in the cognac color and I meticulously researched various extended calf boots before finally buying a great pair from J.Crew. Apparently I’m not the only one who loves J.Crew extended calf boots since they are already sold out in most sizes but never fear! I’ve rounded up some other fabulous styles that will work great for those of us who are a little more well-endowed in the calf area.

Styling Tall White Jeans for Fall

Whether or not you should wear white after Labor Day is always a hotly debated topic in the fashion world. I tend to wear what makes me happy regardless of fashion laws or trends. If the mood strikes, I most certainly plan to wear my tall white jeans this fall. Of course, I will be styling them a little bit differently than I did in the spring and summer which is all part of the fun of seasonal changes, right?

The contrast between a beautiful pair of cognac boots and crisp white jeans is really eye-catching. Pair one of fall’s must have accessories, a cozy ruana wrap, with a sweater and your white jeans are ready for their fall debut.

Pointy Toe Flats for Tall Women

While I love rocking some heels, I don’t wear them nearly as much as I did in my 20s. I guess I’ve grown a bit more practical in my “old age” and also find heels a tad difficult to wear when I know I’ll be on my feet for hours or will be doing a lot of walking.

So what’s a tall lady to wear when she still wants look dressy but doesn’t want to wear heels? Pointy toe flats! These flats are the perfect alternative to heels and I love that you don’t have to sacrifice looking fancy for comfort. You get to have the best of both worlds!

I find that I wear my pointed toe flats several times a week in the cooler months and there’s no better time to stock up on some pretty flats with fall right around the corner. Here are a few of my favorites:

Casual Labor Day Weekend Look for Tall Men

When I think of Labor Day weekend, a few things come to mind: football, BBQs and weather with just a hint of fall. Watching football or enjoying a BBQ with friends both call for a comfortable outfit, wouldn’t you agree?

In many places, the weather is still warm enough to get away with wearing shorts and a tee in early September, but it’s always a good idea to have a pullover sweatshirt with you just in case the temperatures drop. Finish the look with a pair of sneakers and you’re ready for whatever the Labor Day weekend brings your way!
