Not only do I have long legs but my calf circumference is around 16.5″ which means I need extended calf boots especially if I have any hope of wearing them over jeans. Needless to say, this has led to countless hours of searching for the perfect pair of wide calf boots and today I’m sharing what has worked for me.
For my December honeymoon almost 5 years ago, I bought a pair of waterproof suede boots with a subtle stretchy panel in the back. While the shaft of these boots are not wide per se, the stretchy panel allows the boots to mold nicely to the shape of my legs, and I love that these boots offer a fitted silhouette. With a bit of effort, I can even wear them over skinny jeans.
A couple of years ago, I was in the market for a leather pair of boots in the cognac color and I meticulously researched various extended calf boots before finally buying a great pair from J.Crew. Apparently I’m not the only one who loves J.Crew extended calf boots since they are already sold out in most sizes but never fear!
