I am on a quest to stop all tall men from wearing short shorts. Tom Selleck looked “hot” in his short shorts during Magnum P.I., but that was in the “80s”. We have moved beyond that now. For tall men, anything shorter than a 10″ inseam makes your legs look ridiculous. They exaggerate your leg length and make you have “bird legs”. You need to keep everything in proportion including your shorts. Today I came across several pairs of Volcom longer length shorts for men with 11.5″ -12.5″ inseams.

As far as pants go get a pair of khakis with flat fronts – pleats are old fashioned. This pair come in 34″, 36″ and 38″ inseams. I recommend you make yours with plain front (pleats are outdated). I am excited to have found these men’s tall convertible pants in a 36″ inseam length. These have lots of great features. Some of my favorite are that they are made of a quick drying nylon, the fabric has UPF 50+ sun protection, nice cargo pockets for holding extra gear. The lower-leg side-seam zippers allow easy on/off over footwear. When you get hot, zip off the lower part of your legs and these are great shorts. This men’s tall wind pant (item #46535) has a back-elastic waist, zip front with velcro waist closure, quarter-top side pockets and right rear inset pocket. The 37 inch inseam hemmed bottoms have side-sip opening for easy on and off. They are made of 100% polyester microfiber.
