I recently had a birthday – yep it was a big one. I’m officially 40. That hurts to even write it. At the beginning of the year, I created myself a vision board on Pinterest. I got the idea for the vision board from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles“. You see the past few years have been really tough {read about them here}. So when 2013 came around, I was excited for all of the new possibilities and ready to be “Fab at 40”.
One thing I put on my vision board was that I wanted to spend my 40th birthday in Hawaii or similar. A month after creating the vision board, we got incredible news that my husband’s company was sending us to the Bahamas. I couldn’t believe it! It was a month before my birthday, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers! So in May we spent 4 fabulous days at the Atlantis resort and we lived it up! I don’t think Mr. Tall & I have laughed that hard in such a long time. It’s was absolutely incredible and I was thrilled that the vision board worked!
When my birthday rolled around, Mr. Tall had an out of town business trip. My teenage boys spoiled me with flowers and a cake. The day was low key, but I went on a major shopping spree from the comfort of my home. It was so much fun! The items are arriving daily. I think I ordered about 18 items. So far I’ve only had to send back 4 items. I jokingly told Mr. Tall – that I ordered 40 items – 1 for each year. He almost passed out. He doesn’t realize that I can be quite the bargain shopper. Plus, I just so happen to know a special sort of online shopping mall for tall people. It’s research, right? {wink, wink}
So for today I want to show you 3 skirt from Boden that I purchased and love. In case you don’t know, most of Boden’s dresses and skirts come in “long sizes” with added length.
Riviera Tall Skirt
This Riviera skirt come in 4 colors – I chose the a navy color as it reminds me of waves and I can get away with wearing it with nautical accessories. The skirt is lined, but will need ironing. The length hits me right below my knees and I like the slight fullness of it.
Jersey Maxi Skirt
Next, I am really pleased with this tropical maxi skirt. I have a 35″ inseam and it actually hits me at the bottom of my feet. Yeah! I’ve been looking for a printed maxi skirt for a while and this one also satisfies my love of all things tropical. I plan on wearing this with just a basic t-shirt for casual days when I’m out running earrands.
Modern Pencil Skirt
The last skirt is a modern pencil skirt. I like it, but I don’t love it. It’s made of high quality material and is lined and the skirt hits me at the knee, but I feel like it should be a tad bit tighter. Must be all the working out I’m doing. So I will be sending this item back.
So that’s it for today, I will be showing you more items I purchased over on Tall Snob in a few days.
