Where to Find Pants for Tall, Thin Boys

As I have started school shopping for my kids, I have had a bit of a problem finding school clothes that fit two of my children. My oldest boy is tall and husky sized. My 9 year old boy is extremely tall and thin. It is a lot harder finding pants that fit him. So, I thought I’d share with you what works for us. When he was younger I used to make him wear a lot of overalls. I could adjust the overall straps to make them longer and they wouldn’t fall off of his waist. Now he prefers cargo pants and jeans. First off, we normally buy slim cut pants or regular sizes. Loose fit jeans and skinny jeans look ridiculous on him.
We have had the best luck with pants from oldnavy.com as they have adjustable waist pants. We usually buy them in the size that is long enough for him and then cinch up the waist until it fits.

We have also found boy’s adjustable waist pants at Gap.com.

My son also loves this pair of Levi’s Boys 550 Slim Relaxed Fit Jeans.

We have not tried these (above), but have heard good things about Lands’ End climber pants. They come in sizes 2T-20 and have double knees, a sturdy option for an active boy. You can get them in slim and they have an elastic waist and have a built in belt.
