Tall Man of the Year – Joe

Today I’m nominating Joe as our tall man of the year! Joe is Tiffany’s husband. Tiffany writes our newsletter and blogs for us.  Today he is on his last chemo treatment.  As I’ve followed his blog, he has been completely honest about his journey. I’m amazed by his courage and faith!  Please go over to our Facebook page and like this post to wish him luck with his last treatment:

Tall Man of The Day – Tim Tebow

According to Wikipedia Tebow is 6’3″ tall. Lately we’ve learned a few things about him that we didn’t know.

  • He was born in the Phillippines to American parents who were serving as Baptist missionaries.
  • Tebow was home schooled.
  • In high school Tebow played for a team that ran more than they passed the ball, so he moved to an apartment to be able to attend a high school where he could show off his quarterback skills. This was a controversial move.
  • During high school he spent his Summers in the Philippines helping in his father’s orphanage and doing missionary work
  • Tebow was the first home-schooling athlete to be nominated for the Heisman award.
  • Before each Bronco game Tebow visits with a handicapped or sickened child or someone that has had a hard life. We love that he’s so humble and personable!

Below my boys are “Tebowing” and as fans we must say “Go Broncos!”

The World’s Tallest Man

If you think you are tall, perhaps you’re short compared to the world’s tallest man. The “Today Show” had Sultan Kosen, the world’s tallest man on their show this morning with the Guinness Book of World’s Records to present him a plaque as the “worldest tallest man.” Standing at 8’1″ tall, Sultan lives in a small town in Turkey.
He was diagnosed with an overactive pituitary gland condition that caused him to grow uncontrollably. Sultan had a tumor on his eye that was putting pressure on his pituitary gland. The tumor has now been removed.
Sultan says, “Up until now, I’ve really had a difficult life, but I’m happy. From now, I’m really going to have it a lot easier.”
You can read the entire transcipt here. We wish Sultan well on his world tour!
