Womens Large Size Shoes-3 Great Options

I have big feet and I love shoe shopping. Finding shoes that fit, has become a huge problem. As I have had my children, my feet have gotten a little longer with each pregnancy. It seemed like overnight my feet grew to a size 12. What a size 12? When did that happen? I have struggled to find women’s shoes that are big enough. Forget even trying to find them in the mall, size 12 shoes are virtually extinct. So, I have had to get creative and look elsewhere. Let me share with you some great options I have found for women’s large size shoes:

1. Barefoot Tess– is one of my favorite stores for large size shoes. They carry up to size 15 in women’s designer shoes. Until I found this store, I didn’t even know I could find stylish designer large size shoes. Their shoes are beautiful and are made from quality materials.

2. FootSmart is where I get all of my casual, every day tennis shoes and sandals. Their shoes are so comfortable- which is exactly what my feet need as my feet take a beating chasing my children around town. I especially like the Easy Spirit brand as they cushion my feet so nicely. FootSmart carries up to size 13.

3. ShoeBuy is another great shoe company for women’s large size shoes. With shoes up to size 15, this is a huge store with hundreds of pairs of large size women’s shoes! They also offer free shipping and free returns with no sales tax, which can really help stretch the budget.

If you have big feet and love shoe shopping as much as I do, you still have options. Don’t even attempt shoe shopping in the mall, as your choices are way too limited. Order a few pairs of shoes off the Internet, if they don’t fit return them. There are lots of Internet shoe companies with easy return policies so large size shoe shopping has never been easier.

Where to Find Mens Tall Clothing

Is it possible to wear stylish clothing when you are tall? Does that mean that you are stuck with wearing only one type of jeans – namely western? Well, over the last few years, the men’s tall clothing department has expanded greatly and retailers are finally catering to this market. Many stylish name brands such as Ralph Lauren, Polo, and Tommy Bahama have added a huge assortment of men’s tall clothing. So where does one find tall clothing?

1. The first option is tall specialty catalogs. There are many big and tall men’s catalogs on the market now.

2. Some finer department stores now have special big and tall departments. These are usually found somewhere towards the back of the stores, often in a corner. Although they are hard to find, they are worth the trip.

3. The Internet is exploding with men’s tall clothing in tall niche-type stores. Everything you could possible need is available online- whether it be men’s casual tall clothing to men’s designer tall clothing.

4. Custom tall clothing stores are a great option- as you can get clothing to fit your exact measurements. The Internet has custom men’s tall clothing in jeans, chinos, dress shirts, casual shirts and suits. You may also visit a local tailor to have custom clothing made for you.

So what’s hot right now in the tall clothing department? Is there such a thing as being able to wear fashionable clothing when you are tall? I used to think that trendy tall clothing was impossible to find.

Over the last few years, many retailers are adding longer-length items, but good luck finding them in their normal stores in the mall! Most of the tall sizes are found only through catalogs or online. Here are a few great tall clothing solutions:

1. Layering- use a longer length t-shirt or camisole to wear under any shirt. There are many fashionable companies that supply these now.

2. Specialty tall clothing stores will be your best option- as they make clothing specifically to fit your body type, such as special tall plus size clothing, which is a really hard size to find.

3. Custom made clothing is another great option. That way you can get tall clothing made to your exact measurements for your tall stature. You may think that tall custom-made clothing is expensive, but surprisingly, it is quite an affordable option. Custom clothing is available for tall swimsuits, tall jeans, tall chinos, custom made shirts and blouses, and larger size hats.

4. Tunics are really hot this year, which is great news for the tall sized lady. Some tunics are just long enough to make it look like a normal sized shirt on us. Others are quite long. Tunics are available in all kinds of fabric choices from basic t-shirts to designer evening blouses.

5. A great tall style trend right now is to add something shiny to your outfit. A great wide silver belt or a pair of gold shoes is a great way to dress up an average outfit. Big metal hoops look great on taller statures.

When it comes to shopping, tall women may have to search a little longer than most. The good news is, that tall clothing finally exists and the choices are growing more every season.

Tall Clothing- The Options Have Grown

As a 6’2” tall woman, I have considered my height a blessing. But it does have it’s challenges. I struggled my whole life to find tall clothing. When I was in high school, I basically had two choices for tall pants. Option number one was to wear the less figure-flattering men’s pants. Although I was an athlete, I wanted to look feminine, so men’s pants were out. The next option was excruciating. I would go to the mall and search high and low for tall pants. I would try on everything but nothing was quite right. Either the inseam was still too short, or the rise was too short, or they looked like an old woman’s pants. I could spend all day looking for pants that were long enough. Most of the time, I settled on pants that were a little too short. Imagine my excitement when capri pants came in style!

Retailers are finally taking note that there is a huge tall population in this world, with stores such as JCPenney now carrying a few tall items for women. Tall men still have more options with many retail stores creating Big and Tall sections for men.

Catalog companies such as Long Elegant Legs are filling a niche for tall clothing. Since I love clothing, a very memorable day was when I first received my catalog from Long Elegant Legs. I went on the biggest shopping spree of my life. My husband nearly passed out when four boxes of clothing arrived.

The best place I have found to shop for tall clothing is the Internet. Just do a standard search for tall clothing and you can find many pages of tall clothing stores. Specialty Web sites are creeping up for tall clothing in categories such as big and tall, plus size tall, custom-made tall, and tall maternity clothing. Shoe companies are beginning to cater to those of us who have size 12 shoes or larger with more Internet specialty shoe stores opening all the time.

Although it’s taken a long time, we finally have options in tall clothing. So let’s embrace our height and go find some clothes that are both stylish and long enough!
