Summer Staples: Womens Tall Shorts and V-Neck Tees

True confessions! I haven’t owned a pair of shorts in years because I’ve gravitated more toward skirts and dresses for the summer. After seeing how fabulous several other tall ladies look in shorts, I’ve decided it’s high time I try to find some for myself.

To ease myself into shorts-wearing, I’ve been keeping an eye out for some long-length shorts that fall just above the knee. These tall walking shorts from Ann Taylor seem perfect because I would be able to dress them up or down. The 98% cotton fabric is ideal for hot summer days and the 2% spandex would add to the comfort and make for a flattering fit.

For a casual look, I paired the shorts with a tall striped v-neck tee. To add a touch of glam, I layered a couple of gold necklaces and finished off the look with a pair of gold sandals and a pretty bracelet. I could see myself running errands in this outfit or meeting up with friends for lunch. For a dressier look, I’d switch out the flat sandals for some high-heeled sandals or wedges and replace the t-shirt with a pretty blouse.

Work it! Tall Tanks for Working Out

In order to tone up for summer, I recently started a 30-day exercise program that involves doing a workout every single day. Yikes! My previous workout routine only involved working out a maximum of 2-3 days per week, and I had more than enough tall activewear to support that schedule. Now that I’m exercising more frequently, I’m on the lookout for fabulous tall activewear to add to my collection. Here are some extra-long workout tanks that have caught my eye.

Moisture-wicking tall racer-back tank (6 colors; Sizes: Small – XXL)

How fun is the print on this tank? Cute workout clothes motivate me to workout and this one will have me hitting the gym in no time.

Floral tall tank (Sizes: XS-XL)

This top is right on trend with its floral print, pop-of-color trim and flattering racer-back style.

Plus-size racer-back tank (Colors: Lilac, Black or White; Sizes: 1x-3x)

While this tank is not tall-sized per se, it is the same length as some of the other tall workout tanks listed in this round-up. I really love the pretty lilac color!

I’m always a fan of a high-neck workout top so that I don’t have to worry about keeping everything covered while I’m bending over. Another great
thing about this tank is that it’s two inches longer in the back so you get a little extra coverage for your backside.

For a summer weekend jaunt or a night out, I wore the blouse alone either tucked into jeans or a skirt or untucked and belted. I wore the top so much I literally wore it out so it’s high time I buy another one.
