Client: Carl, a tall man who is having a hard time finding slim and modern fitting tall dress shirts that fit his neck and arms without being too baggy in the chest area.

Wants: Dress Shirts in size Chest 40 – 42, Neck 17.5, Sleeve 36 / 37, Slim / Modern fit

Budget: Prefers under $50 but could go as high as $100.

One idea is to get a custom made dress shirt from Blank Label. Their custom shirts start at $85.
To get proper measurements, you can either visit a tailor, or you can lay down a shirt that fits you well on a flat surface and take your measurements. Then you can easily enter them on their website.

My son has a 16″ neck, but just this past weekend, we had to have a dress shirt for a band competition. We ended up having to get one with a 17.5″ neck to fit his 36″ arms. Here is the shirt we purchased. It has a bit of stretch and feels nice:

Not all of them listed have long enough sleeves.

Men’s Tall & Thin Khaki Pants: Personal Shopper

Lisa sent me a request for tall personal shopper help. Their family is going on a cruise this summer and need help finding tall khaki pants for their teen sons.

Client: Age 15, 6’8″, Size 34″ waist by 38″ inseam

Client: Twins, Age 13, Size 30″ waist by 34″ inseam

Prefers: Younger looking styles, not the same styles as their dad wears.

I understand your pain. I have two teen sons and finding items in their sizes are a challenge especially that are hip and up to date. For younger looking styles avoid pleats, but look for flat-front and slim or straight leg styles. First off, I recommend for the best fit, you may want to try a pair of custom made khaki pants.

Custom Tropical Weight Khaki Pants or several other styles
from Make Your Own Jeans. Very affordable.

For ready made chinos:

Dockers website currently has several styles of khaki pants is size 34″ x 38″. But, the only tan one is pleated.

Dockers 30″ x 34″ inseams (many styles)

Lands’ End also has several styles of khaki pants that will fit all sizes. You can also get them unhemmed if you need them longer than a 38″ inseam. The above pair is a Plain Front Traditional Fit No Iron Chino Pants.

I also have a 13 year old son that wears a size 30″ x 34″. We had to find him a pair of pants for band and had to have them immediately. I found that this style of Calvin Klein body pants is slim fitting and the
32″ x 34″ actually looks great on him.

Men’s Soft, Tall Sweaters: Tall Personal Shopper

Today I am helping Linda with some tall personal shopper options. She is looking for soft feeling, men’s tall sweaters made of cotton that fit someone with a 17 inch neck and 38″ long sleeves. He is 6’6″ tall and around 190 pounds. Linda,Thanks for reaching out for personal shopping help. Most sweaters sizes aren’t listed by neck or sleeve lengths. They are usually just listed by sizes – like LT. According to those measurements, I’m guessing that he is about an XLT. Below are the options that I found you including those made of softer fabrics. Tall Personal Shopper: Big & Tall Man Needs Shipping to Canada

Today’s shopping request is for a 6’10” man who is fed up with ill-fitting clothing. He especially wants some work dress shirts that fit. His size is a 18.5″ neck, like a slim fit and has worn 38″ sleeve lengths, but would love to have a 40″ sleeve length. He has a 38″ waist and wears a 36″-38″ inseam length. Our client is 40 years old and describes his style as preppy. He also lives in Canada, so he needs items that will ship to Canada. (that’s a challenge, but I think I got it.) His budget is to try and keep most items under $50.
